Medical Disclaimer
Last updated: 15 May 2026
Please read this Medical Disclaimer carefully before using Clear Sleep's services. By using our website or purchasing an assessment, you confirm that you understand and accept the following.
1. The nature of the service
Clear Sleep provides a private, clinician led home sleep apnoea assessment. The service includes:
- An online symptom and suitability screening
- A clinically validated overnight home sleep test
- Specialist review of the test data
- A clinician led results call and written report
- Practical guidance on appropriate next steps
The service is intended for adults in the United Kingdom who suspect they may have obstructive sleep apnoea and who want a private route to assessment.
2. Not a replacement for NHS care
Our service is a private assessment service. It does not replace:
- Assessment, diagnosis or treatment by your GP
- Specialist NHS sleep services
- Ongoing treatment for any existing medical condition
- Urgent or emergency medical care
If you are already under the care of a clinician for sleep symptoms or any other condition, please continue to follow their advice. We can provide a written report that you can choose to share with your GP or an NHS specialist.
3. Not a formal medical diagnosis
Our service provides a clinical interpretation of your overnight sleep data by a qualified sleep specialist. This interpretation is not a substitute for full diagnostic evaluation, which may include in-person review, additional investigations, or further specialist assessment.
Formal diagnosis and any onward treatment (for example, CPAP therapy) are clinical decisions made within the appropriate care pathway, and we will guide you toward that pathway as part of your next step guidance.
4. When to seek urgent medical help
You should seek urgent medical help immediately if you experience any of the following:
- Severe breathlessness, particularly at rest
- Chest pain, tightness or pressure
- Loss of consciousness, fainting, or near fainting
- Severe or sudden onset headache
- Confusion or sudden changes in alertness
- Falling asleep at the wheel or while operating machinery
- Any other severe or rapidly worsening symptom
In an emergency in the UK, dial 999 or attend your nearest emergency department. For urgent but non life threatening concerns, contact NHS 111 or your GP.
5. Driving and operating machinery
Excessive daytime sleepiness can affect your ability to drive or operate machinery safely. In the United Kingdom, the DVLA has specific guidance on driving with sleep related breathing disorders. You are legally responsible for declaring to the DVLA any condition that may affect your fitness to drive.
Our service does not provide DVLA fitness to drive certification. If in doubt, speak to your GP and refer to the DVLA's published guidance.
6. Suitability
Final suitability for the home sleep test is confirmed after our screening process. The home sleep test may not be appropriate for every person, including but not limited to those with:
- Severe cardiopulmonary disease
- Neuromuscular disease affecting breathing
- Suspected central sleep apnoea
- Severe insomnia or other primary sleep disorders
- Other conditions where a full in lab study is clinically indicated
If our screening identifies that the home sleep test is not suitable for you, we will explain why and recommend an appropriate alternative route.
7. Information you provide
The accuracy and usefulness of the assessment depends on the information you provide. You agree to provide truthful, complete and up to date information about your symptoms, medical history, medications and circumstances. We are not responsible for outcomes that arise from inaccurate or incomplete information provided by you.
8. No clinician patient relationship from the website alone
Using this website, reading its content, or making contact with us does not create a clinician patient relationship. That relationship only begins once you have completed screening, paid for the service, and been accepted into the assessment pathway.
9. Limitations of liability
Please refer to our Terms of Service for the full details of how liability is limited under the law. Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Contact
If you have any questions about this disclaimer, please email hello@clearsleephealth.co.uk. For medical emergencies, please contact the emergency services directly, not Clear Sleep.
