Who is this assessment suitable for?

Our home sleep apnoea assessment is suitable for people aged 16 and over who are experiencing symptoms such as loud snoring, daytime fatigue, witnessed breathing pauses, morning headaches, or who have related cardiometabolic risk factors. NICE specifically recommends WatchPAT testing for adults from 16 years old. Suitability is confirmed during the initial screening.

Do I need to visit a clinic?

No. The entire pathway is designed to be completed from home. The screening is online, the home sleep test is delivered to you, and your clinician led results call takes place remotely.

Will I receive a diagnosis?

Yes, where appropriate. WatchPAT is recommended by NICE for diagnosing and assessing the severity of obstructive sleep apnoea (OSAHS) in adults aged 16 and over. Your overnight data is analysed by the WatchPAT algorithm and then reviewed and confirmed by a UK clinician, who issues a clinical report. Onward treatment recommendations form part of your results.

Who reviews the report?

Your overnight data is first analysed by the WatchPAT algorithm, the same algorithm used in NHS sleep services. A UK-based sleep specialist or physiologist then reviews and confirms every report before it is shared with you. You get the speed of automated analysis with the judgement of a qualified human clinician.

What happens if my result suggests sleep apnoea?

You will receive clear, practical guidance on appropriate next steps. This may include further investigation, lifestyle recommendations, or onward referral for treatment such as CPAP therapy if clinically appropriate.

Can I use this alongside NHS care?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Many of our patients use our service to access faster assessment privately, then return to the NHS or continue privately for ongoing treatment. We provide reports that can be shared with your GP or NHS specialist.

Is this suitable for urgent symptoms?

Accepted Answer

No. If you have severe symptoms such as chest pain, severe breathlessness, or sudden severe symptoms, do not wait for an assessment. Seek urgent medical help. This service does not replace NHS specialist care.

How long does the process take?

From initial screening to receiving your clinician led results, the full process typically takes 7 to 14 days. The home sleep test itself is completed over a single night.

What if I already use CPAP?

If you already use CPAP and want a review of your therapy, fit, or symptoms, contact us and we can advise on the most appropriate pathway. Our home sleep test is primarily aimed at initial assessment.
